SCM Microphones
We offer several specialized microphones for ceiling based conferencing applications.
SCM-2 Implant Microphone
The SCM-2 microphone is a professional quality condenser microphones designed for easy, flush mount installations in:
Boardroom/Conference room ceilings
Distance Learning room ceilings
Stage walls, ceilings
Lecterns
Props and set pieces
Suspended panels
Implantation assures the absence of phase cancellation effects caused by nearby surfaces, increases microphone sensitivity by 6dB and renders the microphone all but invisible.
Installation is easily accomplished by drilling a ½ inch diameter hole in the mounting surface and feeding the microphone lead wire through the hole until the microphone element shoulders. A locking ring is then slipped over the wire and pressed down on the element until it shoulders on the rear of the surface to which the microphone has been mounted. There are no blind or difficult-to-reach mounting screws or fasteners.
SCM-4 Extension Microphone
These microphones are available in custom lengths starting at six inches. The basic premise of these microphones is to bring the working element of the microphone down from high ceilings to a comfortable height to reduce room reverberation and ambient noise picked up by microphones mounted in high ceilings.
The SCM-4 uses a cardioid microphone element to achieve some rear cancellation of noise and reverberation while maintaining an effective omni-directional coverage pattern in the working space of the conference environment.
