SCT Launches MDC6 Serial Hub to Simplify Multi-Device Monitoring, Diagnostics, and Control with Native Cisco Control Hub Integration

The MDC6 streamlines large-scale AV deployments by consolidating up to six SCT devices into a single Cisco codec connection

NORWALK, Conn., May 7, 2025 – Sound Control Technologies (SCT), the leader in camera, codec, and tabletop technology solutions, has introduced the MDC6 Serial Hub Device Controller for monitoring and controlling multiple SCT devices in Cisco environments. With native integration into Cisco Control Hub, SCT devices are now visible, manageable and controllable across large-scale meeting space deployments.

The MDC6 consolidates communications from up to six SCT devices into a single codec connection, featuring RS-232 ports and native communication to supported codecs over RS-232 or IP links. Designed for simplicity and scalability, the MDC6 enables video switching, heartbeat monitoring and system health reporting—directly from Cisco touch panels. AV/IT teams can remotely manage and analyze SCT devices alongside their existing Cisco hardware—without additional programming.

The following SCT devices currently work with the MDC6:

• RC5+ Camera Extender – Purpose-built for high-end collaboration and broadcast-quality production, providing 51W PoE++, uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 video, and IP/Ethernet control over a single CAT cable up to 100 meters.
  
  
• RC5 Gen2 – The RC5 provides 12V DC camera power, video, and IP/Ethernet control up to 100 meters over a single CAT cable–no programming required.
